Peregian Springs

When David and Jayne were sent to work from their home in Torquay due to Covid 19 restrictions little did they think that this would provide the perfect opportunity to buy a block of land on the Sunshine Coast and complete plans to build a new home at Peregian Springs.

“We always planned on building a big home, one that could accommodate both my parents and my family which includes 3 children,” David told us, and here he continues their story in his own words:

The current lock down restrictions combined with the cold Melbourne weather have really highlighted how much you miss being active outdoors and the kids haven’t stopped talking about the holiday on the Gold Coast last year.

Mum and Dad prefer the Sunshine Coast so after a family discussion that’s where we started our online search and found the Peregian Springs website.

The Peregian location was perfect, the schools, a rec club and not far from the beach.

We started looking at existing re-sales, but none fitted our two-family needs, so our next step was to contact Michele in the land sales office.

As we needed a large block, Michele made a number of recommendations then took us on a FaceTime tour of one of the last land stages The Vistas. Here we found the perfect block. Over 1000m² with plenty of space for a pool and outdoor living.

Having optioned it we then contacted two builders and settled on Plantation Homes as they had almost the right floor plan to accommodate both families.

We knew that land was is the final sell-out stage so there was no hesitation and we completed the contract. Michele was outstanding throughout the process. It was really effortless.

Since then we have been in ZOOM planning meetings with the Plantation team in Brisbane and are now in the final stages of colour selection. We were pleasantly surprised by the price difference from Victoria which allowed us the extra luxury of a number upgrades and extras while still staying within our budget.

Construction is due to start next month, and we anticipate moving in early 2021.

David has retained his Melbourne job and can work from his new home at Peregian Springs,

Jayne has taken up a position as school counsellor, the kids are enrolled to start in the first term of the new year, and the grand parents are looking forward to having a more active lifestyle. We hear that learning to surf is now on their bucket list!
